The Challenge

Overview

Wellcube was not a single product with a single user journey. It was an ecosystem serving employees, workplace administrators, building operators, and internal teams across multiple devices and contexts. The challenge was to make a technically complex system feel coherent and approachable while creating enough flexibility for different clients, environments, and product configurations.

My Role

Role

As Principal Product Designer, I helped shape the experience across the broader ecosystem, moving between product strategy, UX, interface design, prototyping, and implementation. I also led designers working across individual product areas, aligned stakeholders around shared priorities, and worked closely with product and engineering teams to turn complex requirements into clear, buildable experiences.

Designing for Two Distinct Audiences

Wellcube served two very different user groups, each with its own needs, responsibilities, and level of technical knowledge.

Guiding Technicians Through Installation

Audience 1

The WellCube Installer mobile app was designed for technicians responsible for setting up and commissioning devices across office environments. It guided them through scheduled installations, gateway setup, QR code scanning, space assignment, connectivity checks, troubleshooting, and final system validation. Clear progress indicators, contextual support, real-time device status, and structured handoff tools helped technicians work quickly, avoid configuration errors, and complete installations correctly the first time.

Giving Facilities Teams Centralized Control

Audience 2

The WellCube web app was designed for facilities managers overseeing the ongoing performance of devices across large and complex workplaces. It organized the system around familiar physical spaces such as buildings, floors, rooms, and zones rather than technical identifiers, making large device fleets easier to understand and manage. Facilities teams could monitor air quality and system health, track maintenance, organize devices, apply actions across groups, and generate data needed for operational and ESG reporting.
